When it comes to exercise it’s time to adopt the mindset of a personal trainer.

Here’s some tips to make sure you have a successful work out each session, leaving  the center feeling refreshed and buzzing with endorphin’s.

  1. If You Have A Goal – You Need A Plan

If you have a health and fitness goal you must put a plan in place of how you are going to reach it.

Work out how many days you need to exercise, work out the best type of training and work out and when you’re going to do it.

There’s a lot of truth in Benjamin Franklin’s quote ‘If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail!’ This rings true for so many areas in our lives and is no different with exercise

  1. Prepare Your Sessions

Never enter the gym without having an idea of what you are going to do in your session. Many people exercise for fitness and fat loss, with this in mind the best fat loss sessions are completed at a high intensity.

A great idea is to find a corner of the gym and set up your very once circuit with little to no rest in-between.

Add in short bursts (1-5mins) of cardio. Try skipping, step-ups, running on the treadmill, or using an exercise bike, stepper or elliptical machine.

  1. Have A Back-up Plan

More often than not, the piece of equipment you planned on using is occupied but there is always an alternative exercise you can do. Be sure to think on your feet and make sure you have a back-up plan so you can continue without interruption.

  1. Focus On Correct Technique

Poor technique can lead to poor results and injury. Focus on good posture, be long through your spine, pull your shoulders down and keep your chest up.

Always switch on your abs through the entire exercise.

  1. Good Nutrition = Results

If you feel like you are working super hard in the gym and not getting the results you wish then we would suggest looking further into your nutrition.

A good start is removing refined sugar, avoiding too many processed foods and eating a diet full of fresh, whole, nutrient dense foods.

Aim to drink 2-4 litres of water per day. Great results come from a combination of exercise, healthy eating and a strong mindset.
