basal metabolic rate

Lose weight with early morning exercise

Why would I want to workout at 6 am? Here are some great reasons:

Metabolism - By training in the morning you are kick starting your metabolism for the day. After your early morning workout you will be hungry and a good breakfast is important.  By exercising first thing in the morning you will not only feel great you will continue burning calories right throughout the day.

Time -   Don’t have time? Worked overtime today? Got a dinner with the in laws? If you worked out in the morning you would not only get the benefits of starting your metabolism you get to go straight home after work and spend time with the family and relax.

Sleep -  Waking up earlier for an earlier bed time, winding down after a gym session finishing at 7 or 8pm can be hard. You often still have dinner to eat, jobs around the house to do or even entertaining the family. By getting your workouts in the morning you could start winding down straight after work and be in bed before 10pm.

What is your BMR (basal metabolic rate)? How will this calculation help me lose weight?

Are you eating too much, are you not eating enough, are you eating the right foods?

Your basal metabolic rate is the minimum amount of calories your body needs to just exist healthily at the weight you are.

So how do we use this to achieve your goals?

As an example if you are 80kg you calculate your BMR like so;

If you are female       -           80 x 24 x .9 = 1728

If you are male           -           80 x 24 x 1 = 1920

If you want to loose 5kgs work out the BMR for a 75kg person.

If you want to gain 5kgs work out the BMR for an 85kg person

With this in mind there a lot of other factors you have to put into consideration for a good nutritious lifestyle plan that will help you achieve your goals (e.g Actvity Level, Ratio of Carbs to Protein specific to your goals and your body type)

For an individual assessment and diet plan book a consultation with one of our Personal Trainers, THIS COULD BE THE KEY YOU ARE LOOKING FOR.
